REDISCOVERING CEDRIC MORRIS, ARTIST AND PLANTSMAN
 with Diana Grace

Cedric Morris was a highly acclaimed, commercially successful artist who became
disillusioned with the London art scene’s bias towards abstract paintings. On moving
to Suffolk in 1930 with his partner, Arthur Lett Haines, he continued to paint prolifically
while creating wonderful gardens and running an art school. Although he enjoyed a
devoted following from fellow artists and friends, his work was largely forgotten until
recently. This illustrated talk offers a glimpse into the world of this under-rated artist.
