THE PROGRESS OF THE IPSWICH CHARTER HANGINGS
Isabel Clover
In 2000 a project was launched to celebrate 800 years of Ipswich being granted a Royal Charter
by King John. The resulting Ipswich Charter Hangings – a series of eight large, embroidered wall panels – provide a visual record and a unique way of exploring the achievements and often hidden history of the town. Come and find out about the journey they have been on over the past 20 years, the connections made, the stories uncovered and what people have learnt from seeing them.

Town Lectures & Concerts Series 2020

Thursday 14th May 1.00 to 1.50pm. Tea & coffee from 12.25 – 12.55
Museum Street Methodist Church (entrance in Black Horse Lane), Ipswich IP1 2EF

ADMISSION IS FREE with a retiring collection to defray expenses.
Donations of at least £2.00 per person are valued to maintain the series.

For the twentyfirst year, Ipswich Arts Association hosts a series of lectures and concerts.
The lectures reflect the history and cultural background of Ipswich and Suffolk through
the eyes of Suffolk-based speakers. Lectures alternate with concerts given by
local musicians, featuring different styles of music through the ages.

Full details of the series can be found here: Town Lectures & Concerts 2020
