Ipswich & District Photographic Society
Annual Exhibition 2010 ![]() Blue 2 by Jean Pain ![]() TAPS by David Kelly The Mayor of Ipswich, Cllr David Goldsmith, will formally open the exhibition and present the awards on Tuesday 2nd March including the prestigious Mayor’s Cup for the Mayor’s personal choice of the best image in the exhibition. The Council Chamber is a new venue for IDPS following many years of exhibitions in the Robert Cross Hall. IDPS have made a big effort to adapt to the new space and will be displaying, as usual, over 200 prints and 200 projected images (on large screen TV) so the exhibition will be as extensive as in previous years. Visitors can expect IDPS’s usual high standard of photography shown in the historic and beautiful Council Chamber. The Exhibition will show a wide range of images including landscape, creative, natural history, photojournalism and portraiture. The images shown have been selected by Hugh Milsom MFIAP (Prints) and Naomi Saul ARPS DPAGB (Projected Images) from over 1200 images submitted by IDPS members. So the work on show represents the best of the work of members over the last year. IDPS invite everyone to come along and enjoy the Exhibition and also to see what else is on view in the Town Hall Galleries. There will be a showing of the Projected Images “on-screen” at Bramford Church Room, Bramford at 7.30 pm on Monday 8th March – all welcome especially anyone who may be interested in joining IDPS. Full information about IDPS including details of membership may be found on their website at www.idps.org.uk . The website also includes extensive galleries of members work and the last three year’s exhibitions. |
